About The Artist

“Painting has always been a constant in my life. I developed a love of painting with oils during my degree in Fine Art. My sources of inspiration include: the colour and light in landscapes and seascapes, the sky and horizons, and the female form. I am interested in capturing the moment, be that the light moving through the clouds or the simple act of walking on the beach. Expressing a mood, memory, emotion or atmosphere through colour and light is my intention. My process is fluid and intuitive. I start with an idea a painting, however that often evolves and changes completely by the end. I work with thin layers of paint, often rubbing them back to reveal what lies beneath.

I am British/Canadian and was brought up on the west coast of Canada. I have a bachelor degree in Fine Art and History of Art from the University of Victoria in Canada in addition to a post-graduate degree in Museum and Gallery Studies from the University of Manchester in England. I have lived and created art in Canada, Britain, Hong Kong and now France where I have lived for the past 18 years.”
